The circumstance can be small, or it can be monumental. Whatever the case, we frequently get so entangled in the situation, that we see nothing else but it. The more we worry about what is at the given moment, we begin to cement it in our hearts and minds. We see ourselves as incapable of seeing beyond the situation.

An illness comes and consumes our attention. Financial concerns, whether we are wealthy, comfortable, or poor, hit us and we grit our teeth and pull our hair over the uncertainty of our problem. A business takes a downturn, and we are focus on what we did or did not do and strain to remember a success tactic that may use again in the present downturn. On world is bombarded by a devastating virus. We adamantly place blame, grumble about highly recommended prevention procedures or we refuse to follow protocols that will dramatically slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Our country is further ripped apart by death and destruction of racism. How easily we allow ourselves to surrender to despair.

We wait for something/someone to bail us out. We want them to hurry and return us to our comfort zone. However, what was will not return. A new normal is with us.

Consider this:

The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Do not wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.     Barack Obama

Get up and do something. Especially, do something for someone who cannot pay you back. Get up and do something without fanfare or drama. Do something that may not fix your problem (s) but might enable you to catch a greater vision for your life.
